Upset Stomach
We know how challenging it can be when your little one’s tummy isn’t feeling right. Stomachaches are common among children and I hear a lot of tummy complaints. Usually an upset stomach just means they are hungry, need to poop or have a little indigestion. Whether it’s occasional constipation, bloating, or discomfort, there are gentle, natural solutions that can help.
Consider Using Enzymes:
If your kiddo complains of burping, bloating or reflux try adding in a gentle enzyme to support digestion. Vital Zymes Chewables are a fantastic, tasty, affordable option for kids (and adults) love. Just follow the directions and take them with each meal to help support digestion when they’re going through a bout of tummy trouble.
Additional Digestive Support:
If you need a little extra help, try adding a probiotic from my pediatric constipation protocol.
If you don’t see any improvement after 7-10 days, it’s a good idea to consult your healthcare provider to rule out food allergies or conditions like SIBO/SIFO.
See a Pediatric Chiropractor:
If symptoms persist, have your chiropractor evaluate for possible ileocecal valve dysfunction or a hiatal hernia. These can sometimes be at the root of digestive discomfort and worth a try before doing a deep dive with a functional medicine practitioner or pediatrician.
Dietary Changes:
Want to take it a step further? Try removing gluten and dairy from your diet for 30 days to see if your symptoms improve. This can make a big difference and great information for your pediatrician to have should symptoms persist.
Important Reminder:
Always check in with your healthcare provider before starting supplements or making major changes to your diet. And if new symptoms pop up, it’s best to reach out to them for guidance.
